Although he was listed as the Washington State's starting right guard, Andy Roof will find himself sitting out this season due to a citation for DUI, according to the coach Bill Doba.
"Washington State has a policy that, after your third alcohol violation, you are suspended from school for a semester." Doba reported last week, "He had a couple of MIPs (minor in possession) when he was younger – then he had a DUI this spring."
Doba continues, "The good thing is he recognizes he had a problem, he went to treatment and he'd doing very, very well."
Roof's performance has been inconsistent since starting late last year due to a broken thumb. Later he missed another two game from a heel bruise. Currently he hopes to return in January.
Doba said, "I talked to him yesterday and asked him what he wanted me to say. He said, 'Tell them the truth.'"
