Former San Jose Sharks forward Mark Bell has accepted a DUI plea deal in the felony DUI hit-and-run case against him in Santa Clara County, California.

Bell fled the scene of the accident and was later arrested. His blood alcohol content (BAC) was nearly twice the California legal limit of .08.

Bell pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges and will serve 6 months in a Santa Clara County jail

Bell could have faced a maximum of up to 4 years in a California state prison if he did not accept the deal and was convicted.
